Sonic Art SA250 Tonearm

We are great believers in Analogue Audio and have been producing custom cable looms and rewiring Tonearms for the past 7 years. Producing an arm for our own turntable based on the REGA 250 arm made us think why not allow our customers the benefit of our research and component testing, and produce this arm for the end user. We tested the different End Stub and Counter Weight kits available and found the most musically satisfying is the Origin Live End Stub Kit from the UK. Most of the Stub kits are around the same price, so cost was not a consideration in the choice. OL don’t go round telling everyone they have the best products, they let their customers do that for them. We can supply Gold or Chrome plated OL weights. Cabling, we choose to use the very high quality CARDAS Golden Strand Litz Tonearm wire internally, extremely hard to work with, but the end results are worth it. CARDAS Silver/rhodium plated copper alloy RCA plugs are now standard termination on all our Phono cables.. They provide a slight increase in detail and smoothness over the standard plug and our customers prefer this plug. At the cartridge end we use Cardas Gold Plated clips, soldered directly to the Golden Strand Litz Tonearm wire, they are a very positive fit clip, and are easy to handle. The external cable is the current model ORIGIN LIVE phono cable as found in the Encounter & Illustrious arms costing many thousands of dollars. A very neutral open sounding cable with good resolution, it replaces the old one piece wiring loom reducing the cost to produce the arms yet retaining the sound quality.

This structural modification kit is the best performer we have found to date. The Sonic Art SA250 is ready to mount with CARDAS cartridge clips & CARDAS Copper alloy Silver/Rhodium plated RCA Plugs. Options:  CARDAS Silver/Rhodium plated RCA plugs now standard! TONEARMS are hand made to order in Melbourne, due to complexity and time taken to carefully assemble them. Lead-time usually one week.
