SONIC ART ‘THE WHISPER’ PASSIVE PREAMPLIFIER

‘The WHISPER’ is a hand made passive preamplifier that comes standard with 3 RCA inputs and a single RCA output, connected throughout with our Silver Copper alloy PTFE insulated MilSpec wire and soldered exclusively with CARDAS Quad eutectic silver solder.

This passive pre features a hi grade Japanese ALPS Black motorised pot, controlled via a separate circuit which is powered via a small AC linear plug pack. The power wiring is shielded.

The selector switch features silver contacts and terminals for a clean signal transfer, from the RCA input the signal flows virtually unimpeded to the output, attenuated only by the quality ALPS pot.

The sound is clean, detailed & neutral, you hear the source and the amp, not the pre. Fantastic with vintage tube and SS amps, I have been using one of these with Hafler DH200 power amp, Electrocompaniet AW100DMB power amp, EL34SE tube amp. With a regular source voltage level from CD or Phono the performance is excellent, smoother and more holographic than a 2k preamp and with plenty of gain.

SPECIFICATIONS:

The WHISPER case is solid machined alloy, front face is 10mm thick as are the sides, 5mm top and bottom panels creates a very solid inert chassis.

RCA sockets on production models are straight gold plated copper for the purest connection. (We can add another set of inputs/outputs if needed, this would add $80 per pair to the cost.

Wired with our Silver Copper MilSpec wire throughout.

CARDAS quad eutectic silver solder used throughout.

Comes with brushed alloy remote control for controlling volume and standby switching of power to the control board.
